1. Who are these terms between?
Version 1 · 28 October 2026
These Terms of Use are a contract between the person using the Mesh Mekan app and website and the business below. You expressly accept these terms before creating an account: no account is created unless you tick the checkbox on the sign-in screen. Users who already had an account are asked to accept these terms expressly, once, before they continue using the app.
Zero tolerance: Mesh Mekan has zero tolerance for objectionable content and for users who harass other users. Such content is removed, and the account of the person who posted it is suspended or permanently closed. Details are in sections 3 and 5.

Mesh Mekan is distributed through the App Store as a single app for macOS, iOS, iPadOS, tvOS and visionOS. Your account and content are shared across all your devices. The tvOS version is focused on watching and reading; purchases and some editing actions are available only on the other devices.
How your personal data is processed is not the subject of these terms. For that, the Privacy Policy and the KVKK Privacy Notice apply.
2. Creating an account and eligibility
Accounts on Mesh Mekan are created through Sign in with Apple. Your Apple password is never given to the app; the app uses only the user identifier and verification data that Apple returns. You are responsible for your account: keeping your Apple account and devices secure and not leaving your session open to others is up to you. If you lose a device, signing out of the app closes the session on that device; deleting your account closes your sessions on all devices.
The app is not designed for, and not directed at, children under 13. If you are under 18, you must use the app only with the knowledge and permission of a parent or guardian. The age rating on the App Store complements this clause.
You may open an account only for yourself. Impersonating someone else, using another user’s account, or trying to get around a sanction by opening a new account in place of a suspended or closed one breaks these terms.
3. What you share and the rules of conduct
The messages and files you send to Mekans, groups and one-to-one conversations, your profile details and your store storefront are your content. You are responsible for your content and for having the right to share it.
You give us permission to use your content only as far as needed to run the service: delivering a message to the recipients you choose, storing and displaying a file, generating previews, and carrying out moderation and safety reviews, for example. This permission does not transfer ownership of your content and gives no right to use it for marketing.
The following are prohibited:
- Harassment, targeting, threats, hate speech and discrimination,
- Spam, bulk promotional messages, use of automated accounts and generating artificial engagement,
- Illegal content; any material related to the abuse of children,
- Sexually explicit content; content that glorifies terrorism or violence,
- Disclosing other people’s personal information without their consent,
- Distributing malware, trying to access the service without authorization, or attempting to get around limits or permission checks,
- Sharing copyrighted content you have no right to share,
- Publishing misleading product, price or contact information on a store storefront,
- Reverse engineering the service or decompiling it into source code (except where applicable law expressly allows it).
The app does not offer end-to-end encryption. Other members of a conversation can see and save the content you share. We recommend that you do not add special categories of personal data, or unnecessary personal data about others, to chats.
4. Usage limits
The technical limits below apply so that the service keeps working for everyone. A request that hits a limit is rejected; no sanction is applied to your account.
| Action | Limit |
|---|---|
| Sending messages | 30 messages per minute per conversation or Mekan |
| Sending files | 10 MB per file; 20 uploads per hour. Allowed types: PNG, JPEG, GIF and WebP images; PDF, ZIP, plain text and Markdown documents. An image’s content must match its declared type. |
| Creating groups | 20 groups per hour |
| Making reports | 10 reports per day; the same target once within 24 hours |
| Subscription verification | 10 requests per hour |
| Devices connected to the same conversation | 4 simultaneous connections per user |
| Conversation history | Mekan messages 24 hours and the last 200 messages; store messages the last 1,000; one-to-one and group the last 500 messages |
Mekans live as long as they stay lively: a standard or large Mekan that stays empty and quiet for 14 days closes; a subscription-based Mekan or store closes 90 days after its rent period ends. When a Mekan closes, the messages and files in it are deleted. Do not use the app as a backup tool; keep your own copy of files and texts you want to keep.
5. Moderation, suspension and closure
A server-side automatic content filter checks names, profiles, store texts, unit names, group names and chat messages in eight categories: terror, sexual content, profanity, gambling, advertising, links, phone numbers and email addresses. Some categories apply according to the rules of each Mekan. Profile pictures, uploaded images and their thumbnails are screened for sexual content and violence; if the image check cannot be completed, the upload is rejected.
In the app you can block users: from the person menu (⋯), from “Block user” on a message row, or from the ⋯ menu in the header of a one-to-one conversation. A blocked person’s messages are hidden from you immediately. When you block a user, our team is notified as well. You can report a user, a Mekan, a store storefront, a product, the name of a street, neighborhood, district or city created by users, the name of a group you are a member of, or a single chat message (using “Report” on the message row), and write a reason of up to 1000 characters. The reasons are “Inappropriate name”, “Profanity / insult”, “Harassment”, “Sexual content”, “Terror / glorifying violence”, “Spam” and “Other”. Content missed by the automatic content filter is caught this way. New reports and blocks are sent to our moderation team immediately. Reports are reviewed by a person within 24 hours; content that breaks the rules is removed, and the account that posted it is closed and cannot sign in. The reported person does not see the report or who made it.
Sanctions have four levels:
- Automatic suspension: If reports about a user come from three different established accounts within 24 hours, the account is suspended for 7 days. A suspended account can keep reading; it cannot write in Mekans or start messages or requests. The suspension lifts by itself when the period ends. Reports about a Mekan, storefront, product, unit name, group name or message do not trigger an automatic sanction; they only enter the review queue.
- Suspension or permanent ban after review: When a breach of the rules is found, the content may be removed, or the account may be suspended for a set period or permanently closed; a closed account cannot sign in. In serious breaches — illegal content, abuse of children, security attacks — access is stopped first and the review follows.
- Mekan owner’s tools: The owner of a Mekan can mute members in their own Mekan for up to 24 hours, remove them from the Mekan (a removed person cannot come back for 60 minutes) and ban them permanently. These sanctions apply only to that Mekan and do not affect your account. Mekan owners’ decisions may not contradict these terms.
- Regulars’ vote inside a Mekan: A Mekan’s regulars can open a vote to mute or remove a user in that Mekan. If the vote passes the threshold, the sanction is applied automatically: a 30-minute mute or removal from the Mekan (a removed person cannot come back for 10 minutes). This sanction applies only to that Mekan, does not affect your account and does not need the Mekan owner’s approval. If you believe a vote result is wrong, you can appeal through the channel below.
If you believe a suspension or ban decision is wrong, you can appeal through the channel on the Contact page; decided reports are kept for 30 days for appeals, and appeals are reviewed by a person. Opening a new account to get around a sanction is prohibited.
6. Paid features and subscriptions
Chatting, making friends, sharing files and opening a Mekan are free. The only condition for opening a new Mekan is that all of the Mekans you already own are lively. Two things are paid: increasing the capacity of your Mekans and opening a store:
| Subscription | Period | When it ends |
|---|---|---|
| Store slot | Monthly, renews automatically | The slot moves to “rent due”; the store is suspended. If it is not renewed within 90 days, the store closes and its storefront, products and files are deleted. |
| Mesh Plus (capacity plan) | Monthly, renews automatically | The Mekan does not close and the people inside are not removed; the capacity of the eligible Mekans on your account drops from 100 people to 50. Store Mekans and founding Mekans are not included in this plan. |
The current price, period and any trial period are shown by the App Store on the purchase screen; the information there is what applies. Fees are charged by Apple through the payment method linked to your Apple account. The app does not collect card numbers or card security codes. Purchases are made on macOS, iOS, iPadOS and visionOS; there is no purchase screen on tvOS, and an entitlement you have bought also applies on the TV.
Subscriptions renew automatically. If you do not turn renewal off at least 24 hours before the end of the period, Apple charges the renewal fee at the end of the current period. You cancel in your Apple account’s subscription settings; the app cannot cancel a subscription on your behalf. If you cancel mid-period, the subscription does not stop immediately: the entitlement continues until the end of the paid period, and it is not renewed.
Canceling your subscription does not delete your account. Deleting your account does not end your Apple subscription automatically either; they are two separate actions. See Account Deletion.
Prices and subscription contents may change in the future. A change that affects the period fee of an existing subscription is announced in advance under Apple’s rules and, where required, your consent is obtained.
7. Refund requests go to Apple
Because purchases are made through the App Store, only Apple can process refunds. Mesh Mekan cannot issue a refund on your behalf, cannot start a refund and cannot change Apple’s decision.
You can send a refund request through Apple’s reportaproblem.apple.com page or through Apple Support. The outcome is decided under Apple’s own policies and applicable consumer law.
If you believe you cannot use an entitlement you bought because of a bug, you can tell us through the channel on the Support page; we will try to look into the problem. This is not a promise of a refund. This clause does not affect your rights under consumer law.
8. Intellectual property
The Mesh Mekan app, website, interface design, texts, logo and name belong to the business. These terms give you a limited, non-transferable and revocable right to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes; opening a store storefront is a subscription-based use that falls within this limited right. No other rights are transferred.
You may not use the app’s name, logo or interface elements in your own products or promotions without permission. You may not copy, rent, sell or transfer the app to anyone else.
You can send copyright infringement notices through the channel on the Contact page. In your notice, state clearly the work you believe is infringed, where the infringement is and what you are requesting.
9. How the service is provided and limits of liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. No guarantee is given that it will run without interruption, be free of errors, protect data under all circumstances or be fit for a particular purpose. Features may be changed, temporarily switched off or removed.
Messages and Mekans are cleaned up automatically according to the limits in section 4; this cleanup is not a bug but part of how the service is designed. Details are in the retention section of the Privacy Policy.
Content shared by users and store storefronts belong to them; no commitment is made about the accuracy or lawfulness of this content. The consequences of your dealings, agreements and purchases with a store or another user are your responsibility; Mesh Mekan is not a party, intermediary or payment provider in these transactions.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we cannot be held liable for indirect damages, loss of profit or loss of data. Cases of intent and gross negligence and the mandatory provisions of consumer law are reserved; this clause does not remove liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
10. Relationship with Apple
This agreement is between you and Mesh Mekan; Apple is not a party to it. Mesh Mekan alone is responsible for the app’s content, its operation and these terms.
- Scope of license: You may use the app on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by Apple’s terms of service. The license is not transferable.
- Maintenance and support: Mesh Mekan alone is responsible for maintenance and support of the app. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support.
- Warranty: If the app fails to conform to a warranty, you may notify Apple; Apple may refund the purchase price you paid. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation; any other warranty claims are directed to Mesh Mekan.
- Claims and complaints: Claims relating to the app — product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection or similar claims — are directed to Mesh Mekan. Apple is not responsible for these claims.
- Intellectual property claims: If it is claimed that the app infringes a third party’s intellectual property rights, Mesh Mekan is responsible for investigating, defending and settling that claim.
- Legal compliance: By using the app, you represent that you are not located in a country subject to an embargo and are not on any list of prohibited parties.
- Third-party terms: You must also comply with applicable third-party terms of service when using the app.
- Third-party beneficiary: Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and have the right to enforce them directly against you.
11. Changes to the terms and termination
These terms may be updated as the app evolves. The current text is always published on this page and the date at the top of the page is changed. For a change that materially affects your rights or obligations, reasonable notice is given in the app before it takes effect. If you do not accept the change, you can stop using the app by deleting your account.
Changing only the date on this page does not bring into effect a change that requires separate notice or consent.
You can stop using the service at any time. To delete your account, follow the steps on the Account Deletion page. Your account may be closed in the event of a serious breach of these terms or where a legal obligation arises. When the agreement ends, provisions that by their nature should continue — such as intellectual property, the limits of liability and governing law — remain in force.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. The competent courts and enforcement offices in Turkey have jurisdiction over disputes.
If you use the app as a consumer, this clause does not affect your rights under Turkey’s Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 or your ability to apply to consumer arbitration committees. The mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country where you live are reserved.
If any clause is held invalid, the validity of the other clauses is not affected; the invalid clause is applied through the valid provision closest to its purpose.
